I haven’t touched a blog in about three years and in that time a whole hell of a lot has happened. Personal and professional. After three years of doing other things and not reading I’m finding myself missing it. The fun of sitting down and opening a new book. I still buy books; many are stuffed into a new bookshelf but I haven’t sat down and read, cover to cover.
Why? That’s simple. I did what I always do, find a way to become too lazy, too unmotivated to bother. So many books, deadlines to read, life getting in my way and getting distracted by other hobbies.
I’ve never really been all that great at sticking to a hobby for long. Having a book blog was probably the longest I got into one and even then I stopped. I got books in the mail, I signed up for tours, I spread myself so thin that it became a job that I wasn’t getting paid for. A chore.
So why start again?
The itch to create is there, I’ve always been better with words on paper, or screen, than anything else. I miss the adventures of a new book, breaking down what I liked and didn’t, giving an opinion and having people read it. Not many people in the grand scheme but enough people.
Here I am again, new domain, new look but same Chasity. All my old posts are here, even if they aren’t as pretty as they once were. I’m going to be reading books that appeal to me and writing about them again.
I decided to simplify the name and use what my Twitter handle is. So this blog is many things…ItyReadsBooks, ItyBlogsBooks, ItyLovesBooks…just ItyBooks. I hope that you’ll join me back on this journey of book blogging.
